The Symbols of the Spirit

“In order for us to know a fuller picture of who the Holy Spirit is we need to understand His symbolism…

Wind… The biblical word Spirit means, “air, wind or breath”

The Spirit described as wind is communicating to us the eternal life of God which is breathed into us… If we’re here and in Christ it was only after the Spirit breathed life within us that we truly lived…

Water… Water is essential to life, we know water cleans and refreshes…

The Holy Spirit is also at work washing us, convicting us of our sins… and administering the cleansing life of Jesus to us…

Seal… When you become a Christian God puts the stamp of His ownership upon your life… You are authentically His…

If we’ve put our faith in Him, He owns us and He takes care of those who are His…

Oil… This is the mark of the Spirits empowerment of the work God has called us to do, and His anointing to do so…

We need the Spirit to empower and anoint us for service… There are some things that good organization cannot do…

Dove… speaks of His gentleness, tenderness, and is a sign of peace…

God send Your Spirit to breath life into us…
God send Your Spirit to water us, to refresh, convict and cleans us…
God send Your Spirit to seal us, that we would live lives that are authentically given over to You…
God send Your Spirit to anoint us with oil, for Your empowerment for service…
God send Your Spirit like a dove, that we would know your gentleness, tenderness, and peace…”
