Adversity

“Sometimes the adversity we face is because of our choices and the sins we’ve allowed into our lives… but sometimes we’re facing adversity because we’re in God’s perfect will…

It’s easy to push ahead with what is “good” without walking in obedience to God’s will…

Good and simple devotional habits will put us in a place to be blessed and bless others… “the trivial round, the common task, will furnish all we ought to ask.”

We see in Acts 16 the very real battle between God and Satan, truth and lies… Satan will always try to distract or hinder the plans of God…

Their was no need for her mixture of lies with the gospels truth… it muddy the waters… truth doesn’t need falsehood to help it…

Be leery of the complements of the enemy… Satan can do a lot of damage with a little root of vanity and pride…

Paul and Silas were thanking God, praying and singing, not thanking for their suffering. They weren’t gluttons for punishment…

They stayed when they could have gone, and saved his life physically and spiritually… Satan was trying to beat them to the jailers heart…

“Saved” from what? From the consequences of sin; from slavery of sin; saved to relationship with God…

They were following Jesus and faced adversity… and it was worth it… Lydia and her family, the Slave Girl, the Jailer and his family…

Adversity in following Christ is to be expected, never allow it to throw you off course… We all will face adversity in this life, only suffer for the right reasons…

Jesus communicated in a lot of different ways here; earthquake, vision, deliverance, still small voice… and all the way He was leading them… God voice and word is the measure of weather we’re following God, not adversity…

The greatest adversity to ever touch this universe was the Cross… Jesus was in the perfect will of the Father…”
