Our Amazing Salvation

“I am so amazed at this salvation that I am so undeserving of…

God has given us a salvation that fills heaven with all of its glories with excitement…

Holiness is not a passive pursuit…

Part of our pursuit of holiness is found in self-control, and avoiding sin… but we tend to focus on the avoiding side of holiness, and miss the pursuing side…

“It is impossible to run two different directions at the same time. Those who run hardest after Jesus need not concentrate on running away from sin – you cannot run after Jesus and run after sin at the same time.”

Holiness is best understood in pursuit of God…

“You shall be holy, for I am holy.” just as Jesus was very different from the world around Him, God’s calling us to follow Him in that same difference… This was the “action” God has called us to prepare for…

God is calling us to purity, to spiritual wholeness, that we would be set apart from the sin that would inhibit us from our service and worship to God…

To truly get a glimpse of the depth of God’s love we must understand His wrath…

Just as God is a loving God, He is equally powerful and deserving of our respect…. “The Day of the Lord” is terrifying…

We must understand that God is not cool with sin…
• He’s not okay with abortion…
• He’s not okay with racism…
• He’s not okay with injustice…
• He’s not okay with in humanity…
• He’s not okay with blasphemy and mockery…
• He’s not okay with humanities mutually abuse of one another…

God is just and He’s going to judge these ills and countless others…

His disdain for sin runs so hot He’s literally going to burn away the Heavens and earth to obliterate every trace of sin and create all things new again…

God’s holiness, perfection and wrath, make His grace, mercy and love shine all the brighter… there is a holy tension here…

God being all-knowing, knew that humanity would one day betray Him, but in His love would still created us… And not only that, before the world was even formed it was in the mind of God, and would be in the life of Jesus, for Him to come as fully human, and to die in our place as a “ransom”…

When we understand His wrath and the tremendous price Jesus paid for us, only then do we get but a glimpse into the depth of God’s love for us…

My friends our lives are shorter than we think, let us live them from Jesus…

The Salvation of Jesus is awesome, and it’s offered to everyone, including you… You haven’t done so much that in God’s mercy and grace can’t save you, that’s the point of mercy and grace, we don’t deserve it…”
