“We’re called to life of stewardship…
Psalm 24:1-2
All that is, is the Lord’s, and yet in this life we’re given things… if the ownership isn’t ours, then we’re stewards… We are called to care for what is not our own…
Job 1:20-22
We can’t take anything with us…
The only thing we can take with us is a living relationship with the Lord, and its fruit…
Isaiah 28:16-20
How did things go so wrong… how have we lost this perspective of stewardship?
James 1:12-18
Lust is not speaking primarily of intimacy… here it’s about good things taken out of proper boundaries…
We’re called to stewardship, not ownership… it’s not ours, it’s the Lord’s…
• All we can take with us into eternity is our relationship with Jesus and its fruit, and nothing else… we must guard our hearts against the lust’s of this world…
We’re to steward our relationships in the light of God’s desires…
We’re to steward our work in the light of God’s desires…
Colossians 3:23
We’re to steward our money in the light of God’s desires…
Are we generous? Are we givers?
Malachi 3:10
1 Corinthians 16:1-2
2 Corinthians 9:6-9
Money must not be our god… where our treasure is there is our heart… it is a test of our character…
Matthew 6:22-24
We’re to steward our time & energy in the light of God’s desires…
John 9:4-5
• Jesus was acutely aware that He only had a limited time on this earth in a physical way… we only have so much time and energy… let us spend it for the Lord…
We’re to steward our talents in the light of God’s desires…
Acts 9:39-40
We’re to steward our power & influence in the light of God’s desires…
Proverbs 28:12
Proverbs 14:34
Proverbs 18:5
Proverbs 29:4
Proverbs 31:9
• God gives us power and influence not for the sake of power and influence… but to be a blessing to the world around us, to serve others with, not to be served…
All that we have, all that we are, is not our own, but is the Lord’s, and is to be stewarded for the glory, and to the will of God… We’re called to stewardship, not ownership…
There is joy in this truth… we’re no longer controlled but the possessions of this world…
• “What you own will eventually own you…” We can lose much and gain much, but it wont change our character…
• And ultimately God is the “reward for those that seek Him…” and when we leave this world naked without any of the trappings of this world… we’ll be truly rich, laying before Him a crown of praise and glory for a life lived for Him…
Living a life of stewardship requires one big thing… Lordship of Jesus…
Psalm 24:1-2, 8-10
“Lord” is more than just another name for God… It means something…
• God’s the Master, the Boss, the King, the One in charge…
Most of our lives are filled with one simple question in every choice of stewardship…
• Will I choose to be lord of my life and call the shots… or will I allow Jesus to be Lord of my life and direct my ways…
• The idea of stewardship is ultimately an idea of Lordship, and who is truly Lord within our lives…
We will all leave this life naked without any possessions, or personal power to protect us…
• When we close our eyes for the last time; there will be only one thing alone that matters…
• Did I have a living genuine relationship with Jesus? If the answer is yes; you’ll finally get to see your Savor face to face and know His peace…
• If the answer is no, you won’t have that some privilege, and eternity will be filled with torment and regret…
Today you have a choice will you allow Him Lordship of your life, or not… please choose life…”
